This is a pretty set of wild cherry cooking spoons. The grain pattern was challenging, but it is particularly pretty. They have good color, too.
The big one certainly has a generous bowl... I just couldn't trim away too much of the "canyon" grain pattern. That is okay though - it will cost me a bit more to ship, but it will be an excellent cooking and serving spoon.
The smaller one has a little swirl pattern in the grain at the neck, where the bowl meats the stem. The grain turns and goes in another direction. Working with that was a challenge! They are both very pretty and comfortable in the hand.
I think whoever buys this these will enjoy using them. As always, my woodwork is sustainably sourced from trees that are storm damaged or that must be thinned. Each piece is entirely hand made in the ancient greenwood tradition. I use only a hand saw, a small axe and knives. These are heirloom quality spoons that, if properly cared for, will last for generations.
