I'm getting better at toasting holly spoons. I love the way this one turned out! The color is very even.
The tight, very smooth and strong grain of holly allows me to carve tome really nice lines. I left the back faceted so you can really see it is hand-carved.
I think whoever buys this will enjoy using it. As always, my woodwork is sustainably sourced from trees that are storm damaged or that must be thinned. Each piece is entirely hand made in the ancient greenwood tradition. I use only a hand saw, a small axe and knives. These are heirloom quality spoons that, if properly cared for, will last for generations.
