This was the first Leaf Spoon and the first Lefty. This piece of American Holly was too pretty to waste, but it was twisted and knotty. I began carving a regular eating spoon, but I had to carve around a knot at the tip of the spoon and at the tip of the handle.
Thanks! I am not sure. I like making spoons, bowls, etc... but I have done some figure carving. We'll see. It depends a lot on the wood I have on hand. I only carve the wood I cut from the forests around me - mostly storm damaged trees. I let the wood dictate the design. But, that reminds me... I need y'all's mailing address.
